FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
If something's not covered here, that's what your concierge is for — ask directly.
What does Calder Private actually do?
We coordinate flights, transport, and stays for founders and executives — one direct line, no app, no account to set up. You tell your concierge what you need; we handle the calls, comparisons, and confirmations, and send back one consolidated itinerary.
Do you own the jets, cars, or hotels?
No, and that's intentional. Calder is asset-light — we don't own aircraft, vehicles, or property. We coordinate with independent providers on your behalf, which means we have no inventory to fill and no reason to push you toward any provider except the right one for that trip.
What cities do you serve?
Calder Private was founded in Houston, Texas, and that's still our home base. We're actively taking on clients beyond Houston now — if you're based elsewhere, reach out. Coverage and response times may vary outside our home market while we're expanding, and we'll always tell you plainly if something's outside what we can do well yet.
How does pricing work?
Two tiers, based on trip spend. Under $15,000, a flat fee — typically $300 to $500 depending on complexity. At $15,000 and up, 11% of total trip spend, which replaces the flat fee rather than adding to it. Either way, that's separate from the trip itself: flights, hotels, cars, and reservations are billed to you directly by that supplier, and Calder takes zero commission from any of them, on any trip. No membership or dues are required to work with us today.
What is Calder Club?
Calder Club is a membership we're building for clients who travel often — priority access, member rates, and complimentary extras on every trip. It isn't open yet. Joining the waitlist puts you first in line when it launches, and gives you a say in what it includes.
Do you handle dining reservations and event access?
Yes, for advance bookings — reservations, tee times, and similar arrangements made ahead of time are something your concierge can handle today. What's coming is last-minute, exclusive access: a table three hours out at a place that's fully booked. That depends on real relationships with Houston venues, which we're actively building now.
How do I get started?
Reach out directly through the form on our homepage, or email your concierge at ethan@calderprivate.com. You'll hear back from a person within one business day to talk through what you need.
How quickly do you respond?
Within one business day for a first response, usually much faster. Once you're a working client, your concierge stays reachable directly for the duration of any trip in progress.
Is Calder Private a travel agency?
Functionally, we provide travel arrangement and coordination services — we plan and coordinate on your behalf, but we don't sell package tours or act as the operator of record for any flight, hotel, or vehicle. Each supplier you use remains responsible for the service they provide.
Is there a minimum spend or commitment?
No. Calder works on a per-trip basis today — a flat fee or an 11% fee depending on trip size, no ongoing commitment either way. That may change as Calder Club launches, but nothing about today's per-trip service requires signing up for anything ongoing.
